Breastfeeding with Confidence: A Mother’s Transformation through the Cascade Project

CCI Uganda’s Cascade Project recently trained expectant mothers in Lira district on good breastfeeding and child care practices as part of our ongoing efforts to promote maternal and child health. One of the beneficiaries, Tino Susan from Acilo village, Agali sub-county, has reported a remarkable success story.

Tino Susan attributes the health and well-being of her child to the training she received from CCI Uganda. “Due to the training, I was able to give birth to a very healthy and clean child, and I have continued to take good care of him, maintaining the health and goodness,” she says.

Tino’s dedication to breastfeeding is evident in her daily routine. “As I talk now, I position my baby well while breastfeeding and breastfeed him well at least 8 times a day, because i don’t want him to be malnourished .”

The training also emphasised the importance of good nutrition for breastfeeding mothers. Tino has taken this to heart, incorporating foods like avocados, vegetables, silver fish, fish, G-nut paste, beans, and cassava into her diet. “I eat foods that produce much quality breast milk,” she says.

Tino is grateful for the training and credits CCI Uganda’s Cascade Project for empowering her with the knowledge and skills to care for her child. “I am happy and grateful to CCI Uganda through the Cascade Project for training me,” she says. “My child and I are both living a healthy and better life as a result of the training.

This success story is a testament to the impact of Cascade Project in promoting maternal and child health in Northern Uganda. By empowering mothers with knowledge and skills, we can create a healthier and brighter future for generations to come.
