Agriculture And Agribusiness Promotion

Agriculture Is the back born of Uganda and is a country whose highest population are farmers who depends 90% on farming, they are engaged in subsistence farming for food, practicing poor farming systems, using rudimentary farming approaches and have low yield of their crops making many households food insecure. CCI-Uganda recognizes the needs for improved agricultural practices for high yield and encouraging farmers and households to practice farming as a business, Agriculture.

Economic Empowerment And Entrepreneurship Promotion For Youths And Women

Youth Economic Strengthening. Youths as one of the core target group that we focus on, three key areas are priorities for us to ensure holistic approcach in transforming their lives. We support leadership development, employability skills among youths and youths’ Entrepreneurship where we focus on their group development, savings and business management skills; We promote Start and Improve Your business (SIYB) approach which has three modules namely; (Improve your business (IYB) for those on business already, generate Your Business (GYB) and Start Your Business (SYB) . CCI-Uganda has been supporting war affected youth in the post conflict region in Northern Uganda through formation of youth groups, capacity development of their groups, provision of livelihood support and life skill training like the village saving and loan scheme; to enable them gain capital for their small ventures. Through support from International Youth Foundation under Starbucks youthActinNet Shared grant we have supported over 200 war affected youths as direct beneficiaries, supported 120 youths from Lira District under Youth power United in Action project with funding from International Labor organization, 160 war affected youths from Alebtong and Lira Districts under Youths in Lead project with funding from Maar Munning Trust from United Kingdom and worked with 100 young single women in Lira Municipality in Lira District supporting them to start their own businesses and create jobs.

Mainly focusing on the Prevention of Violence Against Children and Adolescent. Education Promotion and Support/Sponsorship. Land Rights and Access to Resources.
